Dental care in Korea
Moving home soon? A dental checklist

Two to three months before
- Have a check-up and X-rays.
- Tell us your flight date so we plan backwards.
- Finish root canals with a crown or final filling. A temporary filling can break on a long trip.
The last month
- Use your insured scaling if you haven't this year.
- Ask for copies of your X-rays and a treatment summary in English. Standard certificate fees may apply.
- Keep receipts if you plan to claim from insurance at home.
Treatments that need more time
Implants need months of healing and orthodontics takes a year or more. If you have only weeks left, we suggest what can be done safely now and what is better finished at home.
After you leave
Your Korean health insurance ends when you leave Korea for good, so treatment done in Korea after that is not covered.
Questions
Can you send my records by email?
Medical records are personal information. We give copies to you directly, or to someone you authorise in writing.
I'm leaving in two weeks. Is it too late?
No. Come in for a check-up. We will tell you what can be finished safely in that time.
General information, not a diagnosis. Your dentist will advise you after an examination.
